The views are spectacular at the high points, and very green forest the rest of the time. We finally make the turn off on to the 101, this portion is called the Redwood Highway. It starts out as a free way and turns into a two lane hwy. The redwoods are so different here than they are in Sequoia. Here they are not red but have gray bark. They are not as big around as the sequoias but are a lot taller. You really strain your neck trying to see the top.
We stopped at a tourist place called, Mystery of the Trees, for lunch. Then it was about another hour to our destination, The Redwoods RV Resort. We are camped right in the redwoods. This is a very nice spot, our front door opens to a beautiful grassy area and no one can park on that side of us, so we have a great view. It is in the mid 60's so a little cool for us. We went for a walk and saw some really big redwoods that have fallen down many years ago. They have ferns and small bushes growing out of their bark, and out of the stumps for the ones that were cut down. I am so happy to be here.
