I posted some pictures of last nights beautiful sunset and today's adventure down Bautista Canyon Rd to Hemet. Another great day and nice scenery, I almost thought I was still in Az, lol. Stopped at Doffo Winery on the way home, this could become habit forming. The wine I liked was a dessert red wine at $68 a bottle, my second choice was a sparkling white wine called Paulina at $20 a bottle, so I bought that one.
Tomorrow it is on to Hemet for three days then to Lake Jennings out side of San Diego.
Time to make dinner talk to you all later :0)

Another beautiful day
We have been at Lake Skinner since Monday afternoon. There is nothing negative I can say about the campgrounds here. The mornings have been cool and beautiful. I look out my back window and see the beautiful grassy area and the lake beyond. I enjoy listening to the little kids camped next to us play and laugh it brings back many memories of camping with our kids and now our grandchildren. We take long walks in the morning to see how the rest of the campgrounds is set up. There is three different sections, A, B, and C. We are in section C. A and B are closer to the lake but the spaces are smaller so we are happy where we are.
The afternoons have been warm (in the low 90's) but pleasant. Yesterday we drove up to Diamond lake to see how it was. It is a big earthen dam that I wouldn't want to live by it if it were to break. There is no camping there just fishing and boating. We went in to Hemet to look around, we will be staying there Friday until Monday morning. There is a big sprint car race at Perris raceway Saturday night we will be going to. We take the back way back to Lake Skinner which turns out to be an unimproved road that is very rough.
There are many beautiful vineyards with multi million dollar homes on them. I would hate to have to drive that road everyday. It was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of the area we had never seen before.
While walking yesterday morning we met another retired couple from San Diego. They invited us over for happy hour last night. We all were amazed how much the four of us had in common. They might meet us at Dirks night club in Lemon Grove on the 19th. It turns out that they grew up in Lemon Grove.
Today we lazed around most of the morning and then drove into Temecula for lunch. We had mexican food at a place called Rosa's Cantina. Food was good but more like fast food, but you got a lot of it. I don't think I will make dinner tonight. It's now 6pm and neither of us is hungry. We stopped to Walmart to pick up a few things including strawberries and whip cream. Maybe we will just have dessert tonight.
The sun is now setting over the lake and makes you relax just to look at it. Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow but I am sure it will be fun no matter what it is.

One more thing
If you want a little more details on our trips than what I post check out Joe's Trip Log located at the top of the page.
April 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th
Here it is Monday afternoon and I haven't posted anything since Friday morning. Still trying to get the myself in a routine. We are overjoyed to be so relaxed all the time.
Friday we drove up to Palomar State Park. We took the back way in which gave us great views and a fun curvy road to the top of the mt. It was pretty chilly up there, I think it is at 5500 ft . It was a cloudy afternoon and the clouds were really low and blowing across the trail so was fun hiking through the clouds. Really nice picnic area with 400 year old huge cedar trees. The drive down the other side was just as nice as the drive up. Lots of hawks flying over head in the valley by Warner Springs and deer in the upper elevations. Stopped and had lunch at a little BBQ place, there was nothing little about the pulled pork and pulled beef sandwiches we had, they were very delicious.
Joe went out to check out some local bands in Temecula old town. I was tired so didn't go with him. The band's out here play from 8 pm to 11 pm, if I had known that I probably have gone too.
Sat. we went into Old Town Temecula, great shops to browse through. We had fun going through the farmers market. Did a lot of sampling and ended up buying some cilantro and jalapeno and Spinach/jalapeno hummus. It is so good I can't quit eating it. After the farmers market Joe took me to a winery were I had fun sampling 4 different wines. We had some bread with some delicious goats cheese. I ended up buying two different wines one is called a kiss of strawberry a red wine the other is a white muscat wine, both are excellent. Cheers to you Tracy!!!!!
Sat. night we went to the Paris raceway. Excellent racing. It was windy and cold, 53 degrees, cold for us.
Sunday was a day of relaxing. We went to see Divergent, wow is all I can say. Great plot and acting. I highly recommend seeing it. I am in the process of reading the book. Thank you for recommending it Tracy. Last week we went to see Noah, another good movie that I would recommend you see.
After we got home we went swimming and enjoyed the warm sunny afternoon.
That brings me to today. We left Temecula about 11:30 to go to Lake Skinner about 30 miles away. We will be here until Friday morning. The camping spaces are spacious and have full hookups for only $30 a day, believe me that is a bargain. We have a lake view from our big back window. We can't wait to explore this area.
As soon as I figure out how to add photo's I will you all know.
