It is a well groomed trail, very shady with the sound of the river in the background. Lots of pine trees and redwoods, flowers are in bloom every where. Lots of little creeks to cross. Everything is is covered in moss.
By looking at the map I thought that this would be a pretty easy hike. The trail started out with a little up hill then some down. But quickly it changed to up, up, up, the down, down, down, then some flat and back to up then down. You could see the river where we were suppose to end up so why couldn't it just go to the river instead of running the ridge up and down.

| Lunch time |
After lunch there was plenty more up hill that I didn't want to do, so at that point I turned around and headed back to the truck and Joe kept going. I took my time and enjoyed the forest and the great smells. I did run into another young couple as I started back. I kept going and about 10 minutes later here came the young couple again, they decided the same thing I did and turned around at the same spot. They were very nice and had just moved back to the area from LA. I waited a little longer for Joe, I didn't see him coming so I went on ahead. I just made it back to the truck and was going to get the chair out of the back of the truck when Joe walked up. It was only another 1/2 mile to Craigs Creek and about 1/4 mile to the river. I should of stayed with him. I will try to remember that next hike.
