Our first stop was at Running Eagle Falls. This is just a short walk to the river, this falls is quite unique. Running Eagle was one of the very few female chiefs of the Blackfoot tribe. Her story was very interesting. The falls was named after her.
Once we get parked and get ready to hike, I again realize that I forgot my hiking shoes. I am in sandals that won't work for hiking. Joe looked so disappointed. I told him I was still a little tired from yesterday and my knee was hurting anyway, so he should go by himself and I would wait at Two Medicine Lake for him. He didn't take much persuading. He hiked the Two Medicine S Shore Tr to Aster Park Overlook. His pictures are beautiful, especially the one of the Moose and it's baby.
I stayed behind and enjoyed by day relaxing by the lake. Except for the biting flies it was perfect. I am reading the Outlanders series and am on book to and very involved.
I did take a walk along the lake to the store to see if they had anything I might like. The visitor center at Logan was much better.
Three hours later Joe finally returned. When he told me about the moose and baby I was very disappointed I hadn't gone. But from the sounds of it, it was a strenuous hike so I was ultimately glad I didn't go.
Tomorrow on our way toward Knoxville Iowa, first stop Dickinson.
