Well here we go again, we left Sunday morning heading for Florida and the Daytona 500. We plan on spending Feb and March here. There is a lot we want to see and do here.
The trip here was long and uneventful. I didn't think we would ever get through Texas. The first day from Yuma we stayed in El Paso. We left there at 10 am and didn't stop until 1am the next morning just to get out of Texas. We stayed in a rest area about 30 miles out of Beaumont TX, slept for about 4 hours then were on our way again. Day three we were in LA, MISS, AL and FL. We spent the third night in a rest area close to Tallahassee FL. We were able to stop by 10 pm so we got a decent nights sleep. We gained another hour just outside of Tallahassee, so we are now 2 hours ahead of AZ. We arrived at our destination a day early and luckily our site was available.
Three very long days and 2285 miles later we are here and all set up. The big race isn't until the 22nd so in the mean time we will do some exploring and go to a lot of the other races that happen during speed week. Joe went to see the sprints and modifieds last night at Volusia Speedway and we are planning on going again tonight.
It has been cold here, 38 degrees this morning but it did warm up to 68 degrees today. Tomorrow a big cold front moves in and it is suppose to be pretty cold all weekend warming next week, I hope!!!!
